Génesis Arlette Miranda Longo (formerly Miranda-Soto) is originally from Sinaloa, Mexico where she grew up in the world of food, grocery, retail, and agriculture. In elementary school, she emigrated to South Phoenix, Arizona, where her family started a business of importing beans from Mexico. Despite being the first woman in her family to go to high school and college, Génesis has achieved many academic and professional awards. She has been recognized as the City of Phoenix’ Most Outstanding Young Woman of the Year (2013) and the National Winner of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s Youth Award in Business (2014). She is also a scholar of the following organizations: Hispanic Scholars Fund, Coca Cola Foundation, Be a Leader Foundation, Valley Teen Leadership, and more.
Génesis graduated from Cornell University with honors, a major in International Agriculture and Development, three business minors, and a focus on economics and the food industry. While at Cornell, Génesis was heavily involved with CRU, a campus ministry. She led small groups and was the emcee for large group gatherings and conferences. Through CRU, Génesis met her now-husband, August. After graduating and getting married, they moved to Houston, TX where Génesis worked in tech and August worked in oil & gas. They were also on part-time staff with CRU at University of Houston and Rice University and part of the welcome team at City Life Church in Houston.
Today, Génesis and August live in Austin, Texas. August is pursuing his PhD in Organic Chemistry at UT Austin, and Génesis is the Industry Marketing Manager for Retail, eCommerce and Consumer Goods at Talkdesk, a hyper-growth tech company revolutionizing customer experience.
